Terms & Conditions
• The competition runs from 1 January 2026 to 31 March 2026.
• Winners will be selected at random.
• Prizes will be delivered within 30 days after the competition has ended and the draw has been conducted. Delivery of the prize will be organised and funded by the Promoter (Truman and Orange).
• The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• Prizes are not transferable and not exchangeable for cash.
• The first prize is a Big Green Egg (size to be determined by the Promoter).
• The competition is not open to employees, agents, consultants, directors, members or partners of Suntory Global Spirits, Truman and Orange, or their immediate family members.
Full Terms and Conditions:
1. The promoter is Truman and Orange (Pty) Ltd (Registration No. 2013/155548/07), hereinafter referred to as “the Promoter”. This competition is run in collaboration with Laphroaig, part of the Suntory Global Spirits Group, and Big Green Egg South Africa.
2. This Promotional Competition is open to all South African residents within the borders of South Africa, aged 18 years or older at the date of entry, who are in possession of a valid South African identity document and driver’s licence, excluding:
o Any director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Promoter, its marketing service providers, or any entity directly or indirectly controlled by or controlling these entities; and
o Any director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Suntory Global Spirits Group, including their immediate family members, spouses, life partners or business partners.
3. The Promotional Competition commences on 1 January 2026 and closes on 31 March 2026. Any entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
4. Winners will be selected by means of a random draw by 30 April 2026 and will be notified telephonically. Winners will be required to verify their details. The Promoter (or its agent) will attempt to contact the selected winner once per day for five (5) consecutive working days. If the winner cannot be contacted during this period, the prize will be forfeited and another winner will be selected in accordance with these rules.
5. Participants acknowledge and agree that entry into the competition provides a chance to win only, and that no guarantee is made that any participant will receive a prize.
6. While the Promoter has taken reasonable care to ensure that the prize is of good quality, the prize is accepted “as is”, without any warranties. To the extent permitted by law, participants indemnify the Promoter against any loss, damage or harm suffered as a result of the prize or participation in the competition, including consequential or economic loss.
7. To enter the competition, participants must:
a. Purchase a 750ml bottle of any Laphroaig Whisky (Select, 10-Year-Old or Quarter Cask) from a participating store; and
b. Scan the in-store QR code or access the entry page via an internet browser and submit their contact details as instructed.
8. Proof of purchase within the competition period is required to claim a prize. Participants must retain a legible physical till slip as verification.
9. Participants may enter multiple times, provided that each entry is linked to a separate purchase and a unique till slip. Any participant submitting more than 20 entries during the competition period or more than 10 entries in a single day may be investigated and disqualified if found to be submitting duplicate or fraudulent entries.
10. If a participating product purchased in connection with this competition is returned, the associated entry will be withdrawn.
11. Participants are eligible to win a Big Green Egg, with the size determined at the sole discretion of the Promoter.
12. A maximum of 10 winners will be selected for the first prize, one per participating retailer.
13. All winners will be required to provide their full name, identity number and contact details, and to sign an acknowledgment of receipt of the prize.
14. A copy of these rules is available at www.trumanandorange.com for the duration of the Promotional Competition.
15. The Promoter reserves the right to announce winners publicly. By entering this competition, winners consent to the publication of their names and likenesses by the Promoter, without any entitlement to compensation.
16. All personal information submitted will be used solely for purposes of administering this competition and in accordance with applicable South African data protection legislation, the Consumer Protection Act, and the Promoter’s privacy policies.
17. The Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries, regardless of cause. Proof of submission will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
18. The Promoter shall not be responsible for any technical failures or malfunctions that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.
19. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any participant or winner where fraud, cheating or manipulation of the entry process is suspected.
20. Prizes are not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable for cash.
21. The Promoter may use photographs, images and names of winners for publicity purposes without remuneration. Winners may object to such use by submitting written notice to the Promoter.
22. The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend or terminate the Promotional Competition immediately and without notice should circumstances arise beyond its control. Participants waive any claims against the Promoter arising from such changes.
23. If the stated prize is unavailable despite reasonable efforts by the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with another of equal value.
24. Neither the Promoter, its agents, associated companies, directors, officers nor employees shall be liable for any loss, injury, illness or damage suffered by participants as a result of participation in the competition or acceptance of the prize.
25. The decision of the random winner generator (WooBox) is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
26. Participation in the Promotional Competition constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
27. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa, and participants consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
